Zinc Oxide is one of only two filters that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) considers safe and effective for use in cosmetics. 
The FDA has approved its use in cosmetic products in concentrations up to 25%.

Zinc Oxide is a white, powdery mineral that has many uses in cosmetics, including :

• Sunscreen : Zinc Oxide is a UV filter that helps protect skin from the sun’s damaging rays.

• Skin Care : Zinc Oxide can soothe skin and ease irritation. It can also be used in diaper rash ointments. 

​

• Pigment : Zinc Oxide is used as a white pigment in some makeup products, such as foundation. 

​

• Bulking Agent : Zinc Oxide is used as a bulking agent in cosmetics.
